Campus Cutie & Music Lover

Facebook stalking
Zach James Allott is returning to Media Power Tools for yet another interview.  This time, at the end of the winter season.  Although I'm sure he has much to say about his past season, I'm not here to talk to him about snowboarding.

Via Facebook
Zach James Allott is my personal blogger.com mentor, and could tell me anything I could ever want to know about posting blogs, getting statistics, and answered any and all question I had about blogger (hence why I now know how to embed videos in my blog posts).  Why does he know all this you may ask?  Well, the answer is simple.

Zach James Allott IS what they call, All Over Music.  With 14,000+ hits, I guess you could say he's kinda a big deal...

Hi Zach!
Well good afternoon Austin!

How you doing good Sir?
Wonderful, albeit I'm broke as fuck and smell like piss.

So give me a little background on All Over.
All Over is a music blog I've been running for almost 2 years. It began because I had a lot of great music, that I wanted to share. The name comes from a ticket for entry on a ferry and it said all ovehand it began as all oveh but I ended up changing it to all over.
Seems like it has turned into quite a big deal. You agree?
Ha, well it's certainly grown more than I expected.  Hits were pretty low up until about 8 months ago and then things grew from there.  I get about 2,000 hits a month, 14,000+ to date.

With that many followers, does it seem to get kinda hard to pull away from blogging? I mean, does blogging ever make you NOT DO YOUR WORK? (cough.)
I average about one post a day and the way I have it structured it doesnt take that much time to do a post so it doesnt take up a ton of time...its just a healthy distraction.

Yea, kinda a big deal. What kinda music are you posting these days?
I'm posting alternative rock, indie, electro, dance, and dubstep.

Well the website looks pretty different than most blogspot blogs you see. Did you design everything by yourself?
I did. I used a blogspot template and then from there I tweaked everything.  It's probably what I spend the most time on is the design aspect.

Do you plan on using your popularity at all in order to make some cash in the blogosphere?  Or are you just a soul blogger?
Well, I incorporated ads to gain some sort of revenue but I never saw much return, and it made the site look wack.  So I toook em down.  So yes.  I am a soul blogger...sharing my music.

Good for you. Well, keep it up.  I know I follow the blog because I love all your music, and I have and will continue to refer all my friends to your blog to experience some SOUL BLOGGING. Music style.
I love you. Bye.
Us.

Well, that's about it for this interview.  Oh FYI, this whole interview was done via Facebook chat.  Who needs to talk face to face these days....that's so 1990s.

  1. 20 followers and some hilarious and insightful commentary (that Zach interview is a gut buster) makes this an excellent (minus) blog for the semester, Austin.

Hop into your YACHT, keep meditating on your media, and enjoy your summer!
